Nordic Hotel Forum

I am very happy that the Nordic Hotel Forum is one of those that has turned the Tallinn Music Week into a festival that has found its place in the hearts of music lovers in Estonia as well as abroad in only a couple of years.
Our foreign guests, such as the Russian music critic Artemyi Troitsky, and Chris Douridas, who received a Grammy nomination for the music soundtrack of Shrek 2, have also been happy with our hotel.

TMW and KUMU declare the arrival of spring

The cultural opening of the spring was declared last weekend during the Tallinn Music Week! This year’s festival featured nearly all the best Estonian musicians and bands, from Liis Lemsalu and Laika Virgin to the band HU?. Furthermore, the programme included widely different, good performers from Finland, Latvia, and the United Kingdom. Moreover, during the last day of the Tallinn Music Week, our hotel hosted an interesting suite concert that the audience could listen to and watch as a live stream via their computers or smart phones. The suite concert featured Jagaspace, Orelipoiss as well as Sepia from Finland. A DJ set was performed by Sander Mölder. It is excellent that the concert could be enjoyed by whoever had an Internet connection, because it was streamed in real time for the joy of all music lovers.

If you wish to fill your weekends with something special, look no further than the Art Museum of Estonia (Eesti Kunstimuuseum). Until the end of April, the museum will have its so-called long Wednesdays. This means that on the first Wednesday of each month the Kadriorg Art Museum will be open until 9 p.m. On the second Wednesday of each month it will be the Mikkel Museum, and on the third and fourth Wednesday, Kumu. Thanks to the long Wednesdays, the eye-opening art can be enjoyed even after a long day at work.

We wish you a culture-filled spring!

We congratulate NUKU on its 60th anniversary

Many are only familiar with NUKU as the national puppet theatre located in Tallinn’s old town within a couple minute’s walk of our hotel. However, in addition to the puppet theatre, NUKU also has a special museum and an exciting science centre.

March was a jubilee month in NUKU, for it was its 60th anniversary. This makes NUKU the oldest still operating puppet theatre in our region. During the jubilee month, NUKU hosted a number of interesting events, such as excursions to places normally closed to the public as well as exciting and versatile premiers for children and adults.

We congratulate our partner that has reached a respectable age, and we promise to work towards seeing more of NUKU over the next 60 years as well!

Please join the jubilation, as you will see for yourself that NUKU is really something special. For our guests from abroad -- and why not local guests too -- we offer a NUKU museum package that makes the visit even more special. More information on the offer can be found here!

Nordic Hotel Forum – culture friend of the year 2011

We have been supporting various cultural events for years. To honour that, the Minister of Culture, Mr Rein Lang, nominated us as the culture friend of the year 2011. The title was also given to Nordea Pank and the famous patron, Mr Enn Kunila.

Supporting culture is good, but being acknowledged for it is even better. We thank all of our partners, who suggested for us to be nominated. We promise to keep working towards making events important to the Estonian society and people happen in the future too!

Kevin Korjus’s F1 formula in our lobby

In early March, the Lotus F1 team introduced their new iRace Professional strategy at our hotel’s conference hall. The strategy also includes the young Estonian formula prospect Kevin Korjus.

In addition to Kevin, people could see -- some even touch -- the actual Lotus Renault formula car that Kevin will soon be driving. Let us also mention that this technical marvel, which offers not only high speed but also a feast for the eye, is currently driven by the former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen.
